Meadowbank ALC

In December 2008, we were appointed, as part of a design and build team, by the London Borough of Hounslow to remodel and extend an existing single storey community centre to create an adult learning centre.

The project had a number of interesting factors. The Client had decided to heat the building using a ground source heat pump arrangement and the location under the flight path into Heathrow Airport meant that various Planning Conditions were imposed relating to sound proofing.

The project involved developing an outline design, prepared by the Council’s in house designers, obtaining Building Regulations Approval, including acoustic assessments, and providing architectural services throughout the contract period.
