Winchester House

In 2005 architecture & design services were commissioned by Newman Design and Build Ltd, a medium sized property development company, to apply for planning permission to develop the roof space of an existing flatted development in Southwark to create a penthouse apartment.

Newman Design and Build had previously applied for permission to develop the roof space and been denied on appeal.

The design was developed from concept through to detailed scheme proposals which were submitted to the Local Planning Authority for approval. Approval was not granted and our appeal was also unsuccessful.

Architecture & design services then redesigned the scheme addressing the main issues raised during the appeal process and resubmitted. The revised scheme was approved on appeal.

As part of this commission architecture & design services produced a full set of planning drawings and supporting documentation for the planning application process. Subsequently we produced a hearing statement and various artists' impressions in support of the appeal process.
