Chesterfield Infants SchoolIn late 2005, architecture & design services were approached by Borras Construction Ltd to tender for the design and build of an early years facility at Chesterfield Infants School. The project consisted of the design and construction of a link building containing four early infants classrooms, a nursery, toilet and baby changing facilities, an IT suite and meeting rooms as well as a full package of external works.
Borras and architecture & design services were commissioned by London Borough of Enfield in February 2006.
The scheme was developed from an outline plan provided by the local authorities in house design team and architecture & design services produced detailed room data sheets as well as carrying out a measured survey, an accessibility assessment and producing accessibility statements, acoustic reports and detailed design drawings to satisfy the requirements of the Building Regulations. The contract was varied during the initial stages to include phases of development that were brought forward to be included within this contract. These additional works consisted of various areas of refurbishment and reconfiguration of staff and classroom facilities.
The project was completed on budget and earlier than the contracted timescales and the client continues to be happy with the quality of design and the overall effect.
