York Hall Leisure CentreIn late 2005 architecture & design services and Borras Construction Ltd were invited to enter into a four year partnering agreement with Greenwich Leisure Ltd. Greenwich Leisure Ltd run a number of Local Authority leisure facilities across the country and were looking to expend a capital budget on refurbishing selected facilities with design and build partners. The refurbishment of the Turkish spa at York Hall Leisure Centre in Bethnal Green was the first of these partnering projects to be commissioned by Greenwich Leisure Ltd through Borras Construction.
The project consists of the full design and construction of a new Turkish spa and health treatment facility consisting of steam rooms, plunge pool, hot rooms, haman, relaxation lounge, new changing facilities, treatment rooms and a reception area and desk.
The concept for the project is to provide a five star health spa experience and the design of the facility both with regards layout and interior décor is fundamental to this.
As part of this commission, architecture & design services carried out a measured survey, design development work from concept through to working drawings, an accessibility assessment, accessibility statement and detailed design drawings to satisfy the requirements of the Building Regulations.
The project is completed and has received excellent reviews in both the national and trade press.
